Praying for Japan

Today's Scriptures:
Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth. Psalm 54:2
Hear my prayer, LORD; listen to my cry for mercy. Psalm 86:6
You who answer prayer, to you all people will come. Psalm 65:2

As my family and I continue to watch the coverage of the devastation in Japan, I am stunned at how far and wide the despair must be right now.  And if the earthquake wasn't enough, there was a massive tsunami, and now the nuclear plant meltdown potential with long term health problems looming into the future.  Yet, what we have seen so far, based of course on media reaching the USA; there has been little in the way of looting, rioting, or craziness amongst the people.  They have remained as poised and polite as possible while waiting in line for hours for a couple gallons of gas, or food purchases.  There is much to be done before any kind of normalcy is returned.  But in the interim, we must be praying for God to show up in a mighty way!  I have expressed to my daughter how important it is for us to pray for the people of Japan, the relief workers, and the men who are entering those nuclear plants to try and avoid additional disaster.  Today we have three scriptures…God listen to my words, my cry for mercy, and when you answer may your people turn to you.  My prayer aside from healing, strength, peace, and patience, is God’s glory will be seen and the people of Japan with turn to the One true God of heaven and earth.  There are many missionaries and rescue workers on the ground in Japan…may God reach the people of Japan through them…might they see Christ as missionaries work alongside them to begin to restore their lives.  Would you commit to praying for them each day?  Would you intercede on their behalf?  If so, please comment below if you feel comfortable publicly committing to consistent prayer for a devastated nation.  God will hear our words, our cries for mercy on behalf of the people of Japan, and He will answer prayer!  I thank you in advance, Lord, for what miracles you will perform.
