Today’s Scriptures:
Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will… Ephesians 1:11
Have you ever had a time in your life where you were just trying to find out what in the world you are supposed to do with your life? Most people seem to go through this at about the same times I figure…when they are trying to declare a major in University, and then when they are about 40 years old and life as they had thought would play out…well…has not! Not that it is a bad thing to be middle aged and unsure of your future career, but things in life change. That is the one thing we can all hang our hats on these days; don’t bet on the future because it will never be as you anticipate it to be. Not only will long term change, but even short term can change too. I was on my way to a Masters of Education in Christian Schools through Regent University when I found out I was going to have baby Luke. Now almost two years later I am not sure if that is the route I want to resume. I am deeply searching my soul and praying to God for guidance as I try to regroup and move forward again. So…what now? Do I work on that M. ED or pick a different lane? I am revisiting the teaching thing, especially since it is familiar and I have taught several years now. But also I am checking out school counselor, which many of my close friends will surely get a kick out of since I am infamous for giving out advice anyway (and I don’t even charge, LOL). You know the rest of your life could be a long time, or at least I am hoping mine is…so I want to be sure my choice is the best one for long term because my chances of working into my 60’s is pretty good.
If you have read today’s scriptures it is always best to keep an open mind because heavens knows we can have what we think to be the perfect plan for our lives and God has others. As Proverbs 19:21 tells us, the Lord’s purpose prevails and we as believers are chosen specifically for our generation to conform to His will and divine plan. Trying to stop God from doing in your life is like trying to stop the waves from coming onshore at the beach. And trust me, I have tried a time or two in getting my way, my plan; and it usually doesn’t end all that pretty. But when you stop to think that we are supposed to be living right now, in order to help fulfill His plan…God’s plan…that’s pretty WOW! So I will just keep seeking Him for His will, not put up a fight on the plan that I am not privy to yet, and wait and see. I do know this…when it is the one God is laying the groundwork for, it will be obvious because those are the times when it all falls into place so quickly you know it couldn’t be anything else but the work of His hand! Are you willing to go with God’s plan, or are you the one kicking and screaming as He moves you along? Believe you me, just give in to His way and you will be utterly astounded at what He does in your life. His plan will far exceed anything we could possibly have planned or even dreamed J I’m ready Lord, what’s it going to be??? Are you?
Oh, sorry I haven't written in a while, it's spring break and I've been busy tending to children and the "I'm bored" woes of a 10yr old :)
