Today’s Scripture:
And that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him… Deuteronomy 30:20
Better late than never today, right? So today’s title says it all…the sweetest words your kids say when they are little…”hold you hold you.” Well, am I right or what? They say that because they hear us say “I’ll hold you,” therefore they repeat it back as they hear it. I heard my girl say it until she was about six years old. I now look forward to when Luke says it to me J Isn’t it nice to hear someone say they want to be loved on by you, and for it to be completely unconditional? The love between mother and child has got to be one of the strongest bonds on the planet. No matter who may read this, you may not have children but you certainly have a mother! Impossible not to have one really, so you can at least understand from the child prospective. But, if you are a Mom... well then you understand what I am saying from both having a child and being someone’s child. I love it when my mom hugs me, and I also love to hold my kids in my arms. Of course, little ones are just the right size for holding in your lap…although my little guy doesn’t hold still long enough anymore unless he is asleep! Our heavenly Father wants not only to hold us, but for us to call on Him to “hold you, hold you” whether we are in times of sadness, joy, or if we just desire a little loving from Him. I bet He loves to hear it from heaven as much as we love to hear it from our children. He knows our name, thoughts, and everything about us; but if we hold on to Him, listen for His voice, and love Him with all of our hearts…then we will be the ones blessed. His arms are open and waiting with a fresh love every morning. Be blessed as God the Father wraps His arms around you not only today, but each day of your life!
